Is Gigmash free to use?
Yes. Browsing gigs, getting a match score, and seeing your skill gaps are all free, with or without an account. Gigmash earns a small commission on some outbound course links — never on job applications.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Describing yourself or uploading a resume works anonymously right away, tied to your browser session. Creating an account just lets that profile follow you across devices and sessions instead of staying local to one browser.
How does the match score work?
Each gig is scored against your stated skills, experience, seniority, and location preferences — not just keyword overlap. The breakdown on a gig's detail page shows exactly which parts moved the score, and which required skills you're missing.
What does a REACH badge mean on a gig?
REACH marks a gig that's a deliberate stretch beyond your current profile — higher salary, the next career level up, a skill you'd be growing into rather than already have, or some combination. It's flagged, not filtered out, so you can decide for yourself whether it's worth going for.
How do course recommendations work?
Courses are matched to your specific skill gaps for a specific gig, not a generic "best of" list — ranked by rating, relevance to that exact skill, and real popularity signals. If you already meet a requirement, we recommend courses one to two levels above where you are, not material you already know.
Does completing a recommended course guarantee I'll qualify for the gig?
No. Course suggestions are a starting point, not a promise — review each one yourself, and keep in mind that finishing a course doesn't guarantee proficiency or that any specific employer will consider you qualified. Hiring standards vary by company.
Do you make money from the courses you recommend?
Sometimes — Gigmash may earn a commission when you click through to a paid course, disclosed on every course card. That doesn't change which courses are relevant to your actual skill gap; it just means a strong paid option won't be buried under free ones purely because it costs money.
Can I upload a resume instead of writing a description?
Yes. PDF, DOCX, and TXT are supported, up to 5MB. Gigmash reads the actual text and extracts your skills and experience from it — the same way it would from a typed description.
Where do the job listings come from?
Aggregated from public job sources and refreshed on an ongoing basis, not user-submitted. A listing is marked closed and removed once it's no longer live at the source, so you shouldn't find gigs here that have already been filled or pulled elsewhere.
How is this different from a regular job board?
A regular board hands you a keyword search. Gigmash scores every gig against your actual profile, tells you exactly which required skills you're short on, and points you at courses matched to closing that specific gap — not a generic learning catalog.
